Our Story
A family passionate about hospitality and Santorini.
We bought Alexander's Suites in 1980 fulfilling a lifelong dream to live on Santorini. In fact we did live here as our family home for many years, until our children grew older and we relocated to Athens for their education. Initially the cave houses urgently needed modernising and protecting from the elements but after much hard work we brought them back to life and have preserved them for future generations. Today we continue to run Alexander's as a family business, we hope you will enjoy a stay with us and share our passion for this unique way of life and Santorini.
Connections & Culture
From the first time I visited Santorini as a boy I was in love. This island captures the soul like no other place I've been. I always dreamed of owning a traditional cave house, it was something about the way they connect you to the primordial power of Santorini and it's wild nature. Here we are never far from the sea and the elements.

Halara is an activity that we Greeks take extremely seriously and here at Alexander's even more so. It is the fine art of intentionally doing absolutely nothing.
Once you step through the archway at the entrance to Alexander's Suites you will feel the slowing down of time. This is your signal to put aside all other concerns and focus solely on the pleasure of the moment. Take in the view by dramatically focusing on a point on the horizon, let the hypnotic buzz of the cicadas drown out other thoughts, sip your ice cooled Ouzo - that's it, you've arrived!
Preserving traditions
We feel privileged to be able to bring you a small part of history and continue to do so by preserving these wonderful traditional Sanotirni cave houses. As part of this never ending process of renewal we are constantly making small improvements to our suites, whilst staying true to our vision to maintain authenticity to the traditions and history of Oia Santorini.

We're here to help you make the most of your time on the island and are happy to help guide you to the best places to visit.
